We are both pleased and excited to announce that we will be re-opening on Saturday 4th July 2020. Toilets and showers will be OPEN.
Firstly what a strange year 2020 has been, January was spent working very hard to complete the new extension for the café which we hoped you would have all have been enjoying by now, February – Dave had a quick look round Vietnam on his motorbike (he thought everywhere seemed a bit quiet!) and in March we were extremely lucky to take the kids Snowboarding before what we thought we would be opening for a very busy 2020 Summer season……. Little did we know what was going to happen next!
We are missing each and every one of you and hope you are all keeping well. All of you keyworkers in every area, Thank you x. Those of you who are homeschooling I feel your pain! Everyone else I hope you have managed to tick off every DIY task you have had on your to-do list for the last 5 years.
As you are probably aware, the Government has hinted that the 4th July is when there may be a chance to start opening up camping parks. We really hope that this is the case but we are very aware this could also change at any moment. When we do get to open, we will have to put in place many new measures recommended by the government in order to protect you and help stop the spread of the virus.
PLAY ROOM/PLAY PARK & CHILDREN
At Kings Down Tail one of our main and most important objectives is to offer children the freedom to explore, meet new friends, ride their bikes and play games etc…..
The Play park and Play room will be closed, BUT …. We are creating a new Games field dedicated to outdoor, fresh air, family play. We will have a football pitch, volleyball and badminton net, cricket area and rounders pitch. Please bring your own balls/bats/rackets to use.
We HATE having to say this, but for the rest of the 2020 Season, your children will need to be with you at all times when doing those things, including using the dog walk and using facilities like bins, water taps, etc.
Although we are asking you to keep your children a little closer, I am 100% confident that they will have an amazing time here with us and we can’t wait to see them all again soon.
Our Shop and Reception will be open using a one in – one out and one-way system.
We will be offering the usual supplies and pre-ordered papers.
Although the café will be closed, takeaway coffee, cakes, and pre-ordered bakery will still be available. We are also in the process of arranging other takeaway evenings.
Those of you that would prefer not to come into the shop/reception area please feel free to call me and I can do all payments and orders over the phone. Shop goods can be picked up from outside and pitch fees can be paid before arrival.
Although we have to be socially distant at the moment and we have to change the way we do things, we are still here to help and make your visit an excellent one and we have some great ideas to come.
There are also lots of local pubs/restaurants that are now offering all sorts of takeaways, some of which deliver. We are working our way through all of them!!!!! Next for us to review is The Shed Steak House in Seaton…… In the coming weeks, I will add our reviews to our Facebook page.
Each pod will be thoroughly cleaned before and after use. Family pods luckily already have their own toilet but for the customers using our standard pods, a designated toilet will be made available for your stay.
BINS / TAPS / WASTE WATER POINTS/MOTOR HOME POINT and CHEMICAL WASTE POINTS
These are the areas that are higher risk, as used by all guests.
These areas will be regularly sanitised. PLEASE WASH YOUR HANDS after using these areas.
Our lovely dog walk is a great way to see the site and does not provide too many problems but for distancing issues, we are making it one way.
AND FINALLY, YOUR PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITIES while onsite…. (I’m sure you are all experts by now anyway!)
- Firstly, and very important if you or any of your family are showing any signs of COVID-19 please do not come to the site.
- If you become ill whilst on site please let us know immediately.
- Keep to the social distancing guidelines at all times.
- Wash your hand frequently.
- Cover your mouth when coughing and sneezing.
- Please do not walk through other people’s pitches.
- If you have children please make sure they are accompanied at all times.
- If you want to use the local public transport you will need a mask.
- When visiting our lovely local towns and coastal villages stick to the up to date government advice.
I’m am sure that there will be plenty more updates to come as we go along but for now, we will continue to make sure the site is ready for your arrival.
